senza amore, senza Cristo. Hai ucciso ancora,
come sempre, come uccisero i padri, come uccisero
E quell'eco fredda, tenace,

Ognuno sta solo sul cuor della terra
trafitto da un raggio di sole:
ed è subito sera.

Alla sera                                              Ugo FOSCOLO

               Forse perché della fatal quiete
tu sei l'immago a me sì cara vieni
o Sera! E quando ti corteggian liete
le nubi estive e i zeffiri sereni,

e quando dal nevoso aere inquiete
tenebre e lunghe all'universo meni
sempre scendi invocata, e le secrete
vie del mio cor soavemente tieni.

Vagar mi fai co' miei pensier su l'orme

            delle cure onde meco egli si strugge;
e mentre io guardo la tua pace, dorme
quello spirto guerrier ch'entro mi rugge.

Christianisme et idéologie au Japon, XVIe-XIXe siècle
  Pierre Dunoyer |  Cerf, 2012, 236 p., 25 €  Par Sylvain Urfer | 26 mars 2013

Urfer

Dialogo interreligioso e interculturale

But Dr. Inge is not old-fashioned; he considers himself highly progressive and advanced. He is a New Theologian; that is, he is liberal in theology—and nothing else. He is apparently in sober fact, and not as in any fantasy, in sympathy with those who would soften the superior claim of our creed by urging the rival creeds of the East; with those who would absorb the virtues of Buddhism or of Islam. He holds a high seat in that modern Parliament of Religions where all believers respect each other's unbelief.

Now this has a very sharp moral for modern religious reformers. When next you hear the "liberal" Christian say that we should take what is best in Oriental faiths, make quite sure what are the things that people like Dr. Inge call best; what are the things that people like Dr. Inge propose to take. You will not find them imitating the military valour of the Moslem. You will not find them imitating the miraculous ecstasy of the Hindoo. The more you study the "broad" movement of today, the more you will find that these people want something much less like Chinese metaphysics, and something much more like Chinese Labour. You will find the levelling of creeds quite unexpectedly close to the lowering of wages. Dr. Inge is the typical latitudinarian of to-day; and was never more so than when he appeared not as the apostle of the blacks, but as the apostle of the blacklegs. Preached, as it is, almost entirely among the prosperous and polite, our brotherhood with Buddhism or Mohammedanism practically means this—that the poor must be as meek as Buddhists, while the rich may be as ruthless as Mohammedans. That is what they call the reunion of all religions.

Under the watch of a particular bishop the number of faithful has gon down by about 3500, over 6% of the total. In the same period in Nagoya the number is grown by about 2000, and in Tokyo by about 10,000. Now this particular bishop is being transfered to Nagoya, what do you think is going to happen? I leave it to your imagination.Otanoshimi.

What was God thinking. Time nov. 14 2005

http://www.amacad.org/pdfs/cornell.pdf

Only those who are truly miserable see miracles.

Only those who are truly miserable see miracles.

The second thing is this. You are probably quite right in thinking
that you will never see a miracle done: you are probably equally right
in thinking that there was a natural explanation of anything in your past
life which seemed, at the first glance, to be 'rum' or odd'. God does
not shake miracles into Nature at random as if from a pepper-caster.
They come on great occasions: they are found at the great ganglions
of history—not political or social history, but of that spiritual history
which cannot be fully known by men. If your own life does not happen
to be near one of those great ganglions, how should you expect to
see one? If we were heroic missionaries, apostles, or martyrs, it
would be a different matter. But why you or I? Unless you live near a
railway, you will not see trains go past your windows. How likely is it
that you or I will be present when a peace-treaty is signed, when a
great scientific discovery is made, when a dictator commits suicide?
That we should see a miracle is even less likely. Nor, if we
understand, shall we be anxious to do so. 'Nothing almost sees
miracles but misery'. Miracles and martyrdoms tend to bunch about
the same areas of history—areas we have naturally no wish to
frequent. Do not, I earnestly advise you, demand an ocular proof
unless you are already perfectly certain that it is not forthcoming.

King Lear, Act 2, scene 2
Only those who are truly miserable see miracles.

Die Grenzen meiner Sprache bedeuten

Die Grenzen meiner Sprache bedeuten
die Grenzen meiner Welt

The borders of my language determines the border of my world
Wittgenstein

This means that a person only knows and uses words that he needs in his world. For Example I will not use specific terms of fishing since I don't fish.
This is why you can know what a person does in life just by their way of speaking.
